At last, a noted writer and authority, James Watson, suggested that, as this new breed did not resemble the Bullterrier, that the dog should have its own identity and name. Thus the name existing nowadays appeared. So name of the club was changed to the Boston Terrier Club and in 1893 it was admitted to membership in the A.K.C.
