Boston Terriers - General Care Tips

Boston Terriers are easy to groom. They have smooth, shorthaired coat. It is recommended to wipe the face of your pet with a damp cloth. Be careful to clean its prominent eyes when necessary. Both the eyes and ears should be checked for seeds and ticks. The dog's nails should be clipped from time to time. Boston Terriers are average shedders and as a rule, their grooming does not give their owners much trouble. Dental care should not be neglected either.

Boston Terriers - Exercise Needs

Boston Terriers are very easy to train, as they are always willing to please. Though Boston Terriers are housedogs, nevertheless, they need daily exercise. They enjoy playing fetch, chasing and playing with children. However, children should learn how to handle the dog. Boston Terriers like being treated with respect.

Boston Terriers - Health Issues

Boston Terriers are generally healthy. Juvenile Cataracts is a very serious genetic disorder, which can occur between 8 to 12 months of age. Some cataracts can be visible to the eye. In other cases, only CERF tests done by a veterinary specialist can reveal the disease.

Since Boston Terriers have a short muzzle, some dogs might display some degree of airway obstruction. Snoring is not rare in some Boston Terriers.
